Our Story

Woman owned, husband & wife operated 

Amid his Navy deployment and her hectic workdays, Claire called her husband, Ed, with an unexpected online discovery—a quirky mobile bar in need of some serious love. With Claire’s event background and Ed’s woodworking skills, they knew they could turn the idea into something special. Claire, along with her family and friends, took on the remodel while Ed was away, turning her vision into: The SandBar. Soon after, Sea Level Event Co. was born, inspired by the place they will always call home, Virginia’s Eastern Shore, and its winding waterways.

 

Claire leads the creative design and event logistics, while Ed keeps operations running smoothly behind the scenes. Together, they deliver a one-of-a-kind experience—a blend of personality, craftsmanship, and a little salt air in every celebration.

Did you know?

Claire initially co-owned the business with a close friend!

Having worked alongside each other for many years in the event management industry, it was in 2023 when Claire and her friend Sam realized they should put a brand on the duo they were! They established Sea Level Event Co. and later found a little mobile bar online in need of some TLC. Now, mom of 3, Sam has since retired and handed her reins over to Claire & Ed!

The SandBar was a Facebook Marketplace find...

Formally operated out of Florida, the previous owners relocated to VA and found themselves without a familiar customer base. They chose to sell trailer and listed it on Facebook. After two different trips to western VA, the bar came home to a new home - ours!

The SandBar was completely remodeled!

It took about 4 months, in between busy work weeks, for The SandBar to become the dream it is today! What once had a rustic wooden exterior, with plywood bathroom walls, now features a stunning coastal green color and beautifully wallpapered bathrooms. There truly is no other bar like her!
