Growing a Work Friendship into a Dynamic Business Partnership
Sam and Claire's desks were situated next to each other, and they worked together for years, developing a close friendship. Sharing an unyielding work ethic, determination, and sense of humor, it was inevitable that they would achieve great things beyond their desks.
Sam had proposed numerous wild business concepts to Claire, but one had finally caught her attention. As Sam browsed through FB Marketplace, she stumbled upon a true gem: a mobile bar complete with bar stools and portable toilets. A little bit of tender love and care was all it needed.
With their roots in Virginia's waterways, they named their event company Sea Level Event Co in tribute. In just 5 months they created a business from the ground up, all the while renovating what is now 'The SandBar'!
They are similar, yet distinctly different in the ways necessary to bring the projects to fruition while having fun along the way. Their combined experience in events – ranging from weddings, galas, and banquets, to expos, conferences and even cheer & dance competitions – spans over a decade.

A Few of Our Favorite Things
Favorite beverages?
Claire: Spicy margarita with a tajin rim, or strong iced coffee.
Sam: Any fresh-fruit drink, especially a mojito! And red, red wine.
Top (actual) sand bar essentials?
Claire: Beach cruiser as my ride, beach chair on my back and cooler of cold beverages.
Sam: Backpack beach chair, a large towel, cooler of drinks & fruit and a frisbee.
Favorite part about events?
Claire: I enjoy is working with logistics, thriving in fast-paced environments, and bringing the client's vision to fruition.
Sam: I love finding solutions to problems. The best part of it all is when our collaborative efforts culminate in a successful event, where everyone is having a great time.
